California Collar Co. does not accept items for repair, but certain materials can be shipped to you.
Most repairs are relatively easy to do yourself by following the instructional videos below.
For those who don’t wish to attempt their own repair, we suggest bringing your collar/leash and its replacement parts to your local shoe repairman. He/she will usually have the tools available to fix just about any leather repair that may need to be done.
If any studs, crystals, or gemstones come loose or fall off within one year of purchase, we will send you the materials to repair them at no charge. Materials requested for any of these items after one year will incur a small replacement fee.
Buckles, leash clasps, d-rings, o-rings and martingale chains can be sent to you as well. A small fee will apply to all of these materials regardless of length of time from order.
This offer does not extend to any other materials including leather, lambskin linings and Mudpuppy material. None of these materials are available for replacement at this time.

Sometimes life happens and you find you need to update the info on your dog’s nameplate. This is relatively easy to do, and you can start by ordering a replacement nameplate here: https://cacollarco.com/product/stamped-nameplate-large-2/
If you’d like to do the replacement yourself, you can follow the instructions in the below video on how to remove the rivets that hold your nameplate to your collar. The second video will show you how to reset the rivets for the new nameplate.
If you’re not comfortable attempting a replacement, we suggest bringing your collar and new nameplate to your local shoe repairman. He/She will usually have the tools available to remove and replace nameplate rivets.
You can order a replacement nameplate via the following link: https://cacollarco.com/product/stamped-nameplate
Please Note: Replacement plates will only fit collars that are 3/4″ or wider. We no longer carry the engraved nameplates that we offered for smaller collars several years ago.
